Fuel Cell

Who has one? How hard was it to put in? What has to be done to keep it NHRA legal? Any pics would be great. Thanks

send NHRA 12 dollars for a rule book, you'll need it for the cell and other changes you'll make. basically the cell has to be seperated from the driver by a bulk head. most f bodys and mustangs i've saw extend a piece of tin from the deck area to mate with the deck lid when it's closed. has to be sealed/leak proof. also has to be vented to the out side and no fuel lines run inside the car. the other option is to mount the cell in place of the stock gas tank but then it has to be shielded by a piece of sheet metal.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this could you explain a little more? When you say deck area do you mean the flat spot behind the rear sits before it drops down into the back section? And what is the deck lid?

How exactly would you go about filling the cell if it was under the car? Would i have to cut a hole to fill it with? Annd with the sheet metal you mean underneath the cell right? To protect it from the exhaust?

Sorry for all the questions. thanks
