i don't know a lot about suspensions so i'm looking for someone who can tell me what to do here. i have an 85 ta with 16x8 rims and i'm running 245/50/16 tires. i want to drop the car an inch to close the gap between the fender well and the tire, too much space. what spring/shock combo can i go with for a tight ride without the tire hitting the fender well when i go over a bump...at an affordable price...somewhere around $200-300, can it be done? if so got any part numbers and from where?

Hey SPEEDDEVIL...
What rubbers are you using? My ride wears the same size as yours, and I need to purchase a new set and am thinking about the Bridgestone Protenza RE910's. Ratings appear to be good as well as the looks.

...And you're talking of chopping your suspension, too? That's not a bad idea...ya wanna let me know what you find (if you do find something)? I know there is that little bit of gap you were describing with my ride, too. I've got a bunch of Super Chevy mags stashed on the shelves...maybe I'll take a gander at those...
