Steering problem, would a wonder bar help?

Whenever I hit my brakes at highway speeds the steering wheel shudders, and when I do it in town it jumps to the right. Could a wonderbar fix this? if not, what could be wrong with it and how should I go about fixing it?
Thanks
Rich

You could need to have your rotors turned; they may be slightly warped, check your brake pads as well. As for the sharp pull, replace your rubber brake lines; there is probably a piece of the inner sheathing blocking the brake fluid from going to the left brake causing the sudden pull to the right. They're cheap and relatively easy to replace. A wonderbar won't help in this situation. That's more for frame reinforcement to keep cracks from developing around the steering box; it acts like a lower mini-strut tower brace keeping things tight.

Do yourself a favor and replace the rubber lines in the front. I had a serious problem with my 86 pulling to the right. I thought it was the proportioning valve so I replaced it and it did nothing. I then changed the rubber line on the left, and the car pulled to the left! I then changed the other rubber line and everything was good again. Rubber lines should be replaced every 10 years or so. Don't forget about the one in the rear!

Oh I forgot. Your rotors definately need to be turned. Go to a good shop and ask that the last cut be done nice and slow. This will yield good results.

well, I just got new rotors a year ago, they were slightly warped so after returning them for yet another warped pair I had them turned. so I'm thinking that's not the main cause of the problem. I'll start with the rubber lines and if it still does this I'll get the rotors turned again. Thanks to everyonefor your help and input.
