how do you get the front springs back in?

it seems so easy in the instructions, but when doing so,things can go terribly wrong!!
also these are eibach 1.5" lowering springs,so it should be a little easier right?

easiest way is to use a compresor. i've done it with a floor jack under the control arm and used pry bars to force it in place.

those front springs kind'a frighten me. how much tension did you have on them while you were prying them in? were you able to get the spring isolator centered at the top?

Tape the isolators on to the spring. Secondly, I usually take out the bolts holding the A-arm to the k-member. Support the car on Jack stands and use the jack to relive some of the tension on the bolts. Then just take them out. And lower the jack VERY SLOWLY. I learned this trick when swapping springs on three Mustangs in one week. The tech's at the local Mercedes Dealer showed it to me.

thanks cy,that's what the directions say to do,it seems like the easiest way. I still don't want to be under there while that A-arm is disconected , I have the "inside" spring compresor now too,so this shouldn't be too hard. some people have to learn the hard way.. at least I have the courage to get back on it and not pay someone $200 to do it for me.

Compress the springs with a spring compressor as much as reasonably possible. Tape the isolator to the spring. Put a jack under the control arm and lift it up until the spring catches on the lower perch. Jack it into place, install the front strut and remove the spring compressor. It's really easy. Just be careful that you get the spring compact as possible or you'll end up bowing it when raising the control arm and it may pop out at you.
