Wheel bearing mistake...
I changed my bearings about 5,000 miles ago but did not know at the time how important it was to change the races. I still have the new ones...is it too late to put them in?

Yeah...I think I'll take a look at them when I do my brakes and see if they are fine.

listen for squeaks. If you hear em, swap em out. Bearings are pretty cheap. Having one go bad sucks. I spent four hours with a hacksaw and a cold chisel getting a basically heat-welded race off the spindle of my old Le Mans. (Back in the "buy parts or buy food.. uhh.. food!" days).

sorry, it's been so long since I've had to do anything with my car.

It's been ten years since I've done a set of rotors myself, but, you have the bearing ring, the outer race on the rotor, the inner race that seats on the spindle, the dust cap/grease seal that goes on the inboard lip of the rotor, and the grease cap that goes on the outside.
usually they come as a set, though I seem to remember the rubber seal was "extra" from Pep Boys when I was buying them. The real trick is learning to pack them right, so they are fully greased before they go on.

Woops, link doesn't work. Description is:
Wheel Bearing Cup - Inner - Front Wheel
Product Line: NAPA Bearings
Comments: Except Performance Package;Except 1989 Anniversery Package;w/ Performance Package;w/ 1989 Anniversery Package
Per Car Qty.: 2
Compare BRG LM67010
What is that for? I noticed the inner bearings don't come with a race.
