New Better Stock Style Springs???
What springs do I get if I don't want to lower my car but I want something NEW?
I am fine with stock but are there other options out there? I have looked on NAPA, EBAY and other sites but no one really says why the springs they sell are rated for my car.
My car is far, far, far from stock, cage, F1 383, T-56, Moser 12 bolt, Tube suspention, etc....
What should I run. Napa list like 10 different front springs and they all have different load ratings. What do I do???
Thanks for any help.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
I run stock Iroc springs on mine. MOOG brand. I'd have to look up part numbers, but I know the fronts have a fairly high rate. Check out a MOOG catalog for details.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
MOOG stock IROC springs are the way to go:
Front: 5662 (706lbs spring rate)
Rear: 5665 (107lbs spring rate)
Rear sat a bit high when i put them in, but then again i put in 4th gen insulators which are higher than 3rd gen ones :S
They've settled after almost a year and are at a decent height now and are nice and stiff.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
Why do you want to replace them at all? That might determine what spring rate you go with.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
Thats who I buy most of my stuff from too.
I want to replace mine cuz I know they are old and sagging a LOT. My TQ arm hits my floor board quite a bit. This is common for cars with Moser 12 bolts and aftermarket TQ arms. The problem is really bad for lowered cars. Mine is not lowered, it is just sagging like crazy. I need new springs...
I just want to make sure I buy something that is streetable and not too harsh. At the same time I don't want a pillow spring. Thats why I checked NAPA and the amount of springs that came up was WAY too high. I will check SPOHN again. I am trying to not spend too much. I have way to much going into the motor this year!

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
Just priced out these springs to my door: (MOOG 5662 and 5665)
Summitracing.com = $147.00
Spohn.net = $171.40
Ebaymotors.com = $146.98
No idea why Spohn is so much more money but looks like I will be going with summit so I can get them both from a trusted supplier. I almost always go with ebay, but for $3 I will go with one shipper.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
I have a Spohn torque arm on a Moser 9" and the back of my torque arm hits the trans tunnel too. That was even with the car on factory rear springs and coilovers up front set to factory height. I think thats just what happens with those torque arms. Not saying not to get new springs, but I wouldnt be surprised if it still hapens.

I hear what you are saying. I know I need new springs.
I also notched my floor by cutting a chunk out and welded in travel space for the TQ arm. I will post pics if you want. Real easy job if you have a MIG. I am using stock springs from an 88 IROC, lol. Def time to get something a little more fresh considering I have everything else updated.

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
RockAuto doesn't list the rear springs that I am looking for. They do have some rear springs but I don't know what they are. If I buy from them, I save $10. Shipped they are $137.00
Anyone know what I should get if I want a stiffer spring in the rear????

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
i'm going to lower the front with dropped spindles and cut the rear moogs which will increase the spring rate, but I do not know to how much, but it'll be stiffer (my rear is just a bit too bouncy for my taste).

Re: New Better Stock Style Springs???
I thought you were looking for the Moog 5665 springs for the rear? They are the springs that our cars use. Heavy duty constant rate springs. Just do a part number search on their site for 5665 and it comes right up.
