Where is the sound coming from? If it is the front you might want to check the ball joints. Mine was clunking and it was the left ball joint. The joint was toast it would move around in the housing.

Been thru all that... Last year I replaced ALL steering and suspension components (because they needed it), but when all was said and done, I still had that "clunk" you speak of. This past Friday I replaced my brake calipers and problem appears to be solved. No more clunks. Calipers are cheap - $13 each (unloaded) at NAPA...

Ok, what if the clunk sounds like it is coming from somewhere around the right rear passenger seat under the car. Seems to happen when there is a combo of a turn and a bump (like when turning onto another street that doesn't transition smooth). I've only recently started noticing, so haven't had a chance to start looking on my own yet. Thanks

MikeS;

first check out the rear components - shocks, trailing arms, torque arm, etc. to make sure you're all nice-n-tight in there. Also, check the "play" in the rear, trying to push/pull the wheels from the axle... it will most likely be a busted shock you're hearing. A sure sign of it is if the bushings on the end links back there are all chewed up, but it would have to have been busted for some time for it to do that... disc or drum brakes?

Now that I listen to it some more, I'd say it sounds like it is actually a little more forward than the rear end. More like under the passenger side seats. I got the car only a few weeks ago, but think the shocks are fairly new. I can't put it up on ramps right now, cause all my ramps and jackstands are under my other car at the moment. I could see it being something with the torque arm, possibly lose at the rear end, although that is farther back than the sound seems to come from. Its wierd. My sound seems to come from an area of the car where there are no moving parts. Go figure. Rear drums by the way.

You may want to check inside the car. Look in your spare tire well and see if anything is loose.

Good call there. I checked that and tightened it up a few weeks ago. That got rid of a different clunk. At least I'm pretty sure it got rid of it and I am hearing a different one now.

Have you checked your transmission mount. That is generally makes that noise and is a VERY common problem. Hard to tell if its bad without jacking up the torque arm a little to take weight off of mount.

Well it's none of those things....it's when I brake...I know what a broken or loose transmission mount sounds like...and this sounds like 2 piece's of metal rubbing against each other to make a CLUNK. and when I turn into some places that have a high curve....it makes that noise 2.....

Maybe you have loose exhaust under the passenger side occassionlly hitting the underside of your car. Just a thought.
