Is it possible to get lighter yet stronger sway bars?
I could really use a strong set of sway bars on my car, but I want them to be lighter than stock ones. Money is also a big issue. I was thinking pulling them off an Iroc if they are lighter and worth it, otherwise I'll buy new.

You can buy stronger and lighter by getting a hollow sway bar. They will be expensive though. Iroc sway bars would be better than you have but would weigh more.
good luck,

The WS6 Firebirds had hollow front 36mm sway bars. You can find one at a junkyard maybe. Or...I have an extra one just laying around. Only the front, not the rear. Email me if interested. gte805i@prism.gatech.edu

Should you be interested, I have a set of 1LE/WS6 type sway bars--hollow 36 mm front and solid 24 mm rear with insulators housings. Please see my ad in the classifieds.
