Blizzaks Ws-50 snow tires

Has anyone used Bridgestone / Firestone Blizzak WS-50 on a 3rd generation Firebird with 245/50R16 tires ? I was thinking of picking up a pair for those dustings of snow up here in Connecticut but don't know if they are really worth it. If anyone has any experience with the use of these tires in the snow/ice please let me know..
Thanks..

I live in the north pole of Michigan, I dont drive my bird in the winter due to 260" of snow plus. But my local tire shop swears by the blizzacs. My typhoon I drove all winter long with a set of Michelon Snow tires on it, 245/45hr16. Made a 90% difference over regular tires. Yes typhoons are all wheel drive but with 60% of power to rear in snow the back end will slide just like rwd car. Get the ones good for your area They are all rated based on Ice traction vs deep snow. Good luck

I have the Blizzaks for my Z. HUGE difference, and I love 'em. They're damn costly though, and I've got four, so I wait until there's about 3 feet of snow before I slap 'em on. It doesn't take long to burn that soft rubber off on the pavement.

I bought my IROC last November and bought Blizzaks a week later. The car is very driveable in winter with these tires. In fact, I prefer to drive my IROC (with these tires) in heavy snow over my wife's 5-series BMW with traction/skid control and all season tires.

I will have nothing else after trying them.
