9" Ford Rear end Brake Hookup
9" Ford Rear end Brake Hookup
I recently purchased a Moser 9" Ford rear end with their drum brake kit which are new 11" drums from an F150. The old brake cylinders on my orginal rear are metric(I had to replace one once) and the brake cylinders on the new rear are SAE.
Bending new SAE lines and getting a distribution tee that is SAE should not be a problem but I am not sure what the cleanest way to hook up from the flex line off the rear line tee to the brake line that run back to the master cylinder is. An adapter? Is the fitting just Metric and could I cut the fitting off and put an SAE end on and flare or is the brake line actually Metric too?
Has anyone done this swap and how did you resolve the joning of the Metric to SAE?
Thanks

It should be just the fittings that are metric. You could cut and reflare if you like.
But what *I'd* do is get the right rubber house for your car, then either use metric pipes and an adapter at the wheel cylinders, or SAE pipes and an adapter at the T fitting.
Then again, my reflaring tool sucks (or I do) so I really try to avoid reflaring whenever possible.
