draining brake system

If I drain the brakes below the level of the Master cylinder will that neccesitate some kind of special proceedure to fill the system back up. Or can I just fill the MC again and bleed normaly. I have heard of "bench bleeding" the master cylinder but I dont know what it is or how to do it.

thanks for any help.

i take it you're removing the MC? if so yes you'll have to bleed it and maybe the entire system. to bench bleed the MC you clamp it in a vice and attach a rubber hose with nut to the brake line ports and the force the hose shut and pump the MC up then releaase the hoses to let air out the force closed again and repete

actually I am replacing lines but I figured that I should eliminate all slop in the pedal so I want to get all the brake fluid replaced.
I am not sure about your explination. do I pump fluid into the MC bacwards through the brake ports and then where will the air come out?

i always heard you just loop a hose into the master cylinder and put some fluid in it and push the piston in. this way the fluid recirculates and the air is worked out of the mc
