How much weight does chroming the wheels add?

I am looking at 17x11 and 17x9.5 ZR-1 wheels. How much more weight would the chrome wheels weigh over the polished? Would it make a noticable difference in acceleration?

Wheel weights would add more weight.

All 4 wheels might add 1/4 pound. Chrome isn't heavy. Even the copper and nickle layers under the chrome are not thick enough to add enough weight to notice.

Yes I was serious. I don't have anything chrome on my car and neither does anyone else I know. I all knew was they dip the wheel in chrome and wondered how much weight it added.

After cleaning and polishing it's dipped in copper first for a good base. Then it's dipped in nickle to give a deep shine. Chrome is the last dipping and that gives it the finished look.

Better price out what it costs to get 4 rims chromed first. It can be cheaper to just buy new chrome rims. I think the last time I priced it out it was around $200 each. Depends on how much labor is involved in the polishing process.
