Is it better to run 245's all around or 245's front and 255's rear or all 255's??

For handling, street racing, drag racing (at track), and whats the actual difference that the different combinations make on an IROC-Z?? Thanks!!

I have 265's on the front, and 295's on the rear.. works well.. cornering isnt bad... But then again I havent driven another camaro with a different tyre setup..

Probably be wiser to have smaller width tyre at the front for steering, and larger tyres at the back to get the power to the ground.

If you are running a 16x8 rim then you definetly want to use the 245/50-R16 tires for cornering. The width gain of the 255 tire is almost negligable but the change in sidewall height is significant. You will substantially reduce handling ability when using a 255 relative to a 245. However, for drag use you want the extra sidewall that the 255 affords. For top speed you want the 245 becuase there will be less parasitic drag.

For an all round car use the 245 tire. It's closer to optimal on an 8-inch rim then the 255 tire.

I also like the bigger tire look. Will the 255's on the rear do that much to handling, I will be going to the track alot too??

The way I understand it is anything over 255 is simply cosmetic on IROC rims. 295's on 8" rims won't provide any more traction... I think, can anyone confirm. I do like the idea of putting 295's on mine actually, even just for show
