Expensive Idler Arm Worth It ?
Expensive Idler Arm Worth It ?
Of course you don't want the arm to snap off, but what is the difference in performance or longevity between the $35 idler arm and the $65 idler arm ? I want to get the cheap one. Any reason to spend more ? Will it fit better ? Last longer ? ( I am assuming neither one will ever "break", of course )
Thanks

They don't generally break, they wear out. As long as the cheap one is a brand name you've heard of before, it should be OK. Then again, do you want to change it again next year?

AutoZone has 2 brands of idler arm
McQuay - Norris for $32.99
and Rare-Parts for $61.99 I've never heard of either, but then I've never heard of any brand of idler arm... Any one have comments on these 2 brand names ??
Thanks

than normal.

Looks like Summit Racing's started to carry the Moog suspension parts, too...

McQuay-Norris is a pretty good product. If I had a choice I would probably go with Moog, but I doubt you'll be unhappy with the cheaper one.

Thnaks for the input. I got the McQuay-Norris. $32.99. Looks really nice. Now I just have to sift through all the contradictory info and figure out how to install it.
