traction. WHAT IS THE DEAL?

ok guys, i see poeple on here all the time complainin about not gettin any traction. even 305 guys like me say they can't get traction. my buddy has a car just like mine and he used to spin all over the place, till i taught him how to launch. no my car is not a race car, but it runs pretty good. i have beat a 402 4speed chevelle, 2 L98 cars, and 3 Lb9 cars. i have never had traction problems. i'm runnin 245/50/16 BFG radial TAs. i have an automatic and i launch off the brake at about 1400 rpm. i don't spin but leave light black posi marks for about 5-8 feet. i hook up every time. that is how i have won so many races(accept the L98 cars i beat them from a roll on at 45mph) most guys spin a little, and it kills them. why do all you guys have traction problems? i don't think i have heard anyone here say they can hook up rock solid. i'm just wonderin why everybody else has problems hookin when i don't. how do the rest of u guys launch? keep in mind i have 3.23 gears, and an open rear. the rest is in my sig.

My 305 TPI motor gets good traction also. Most of these guys have a little more motor. By the nature of thier design f-body cars are nose heavy. The last time I scaled mine it was 2096 lbs or 57% nose heavy. With only 1575 lbs on the rear the tires spin rather than push the weight. The more motor you add the worse the problem gets. The small CUin motors don't have the torque to break the tires loose. To make a long story short it's not your professional driving skills but a lack of motor that keeps your tires from going up in smoak.lol. I have found this to be a major advantage in autocrossing though.

i guess i didn't mean to make it sound like i'm a pro driver, cause i'm not. and i know my car isn't fast but i guess is still hear guys gripin about not hookin up. i'm puttin 3.73 gears in this winter and am not anticipating any traction problems. i like being able to smoke alot of guys off the line. it is fun, it makes my car look alot faster than it is. lol. oh and how do the rest of you automatic guys launch?
