Front Suspension/struts/linkage/bushings

I'm replacing the shocks and struts on 88 GTA w/ 305. Lots of choices out there w/ varied pricing. I really don't want to pay for Bilsteins, but would like a good product. Any advice on good replacements at decent pricing?

Also replacing steering linkage (tie rods, drag link, idler arm, etc). I've read the Raybestos brand, Professional Grade, is way to go. Any thoughts?

Trying to decide if should go with polyurathane bushings. cost isnt that much more, but i've read of binding and other issues.

Finally - balljoints - what's up with "oversize" balljoints?

Sorry to ask so much in one thread, but really appreciate the input!

2nd on the KYB struts/shocks

I have all poly bushings on the front of my Camaro and have had no binding issues.

Oversize balljoints are for use when the hole in the control arm is worn.

I know I'm just repeating here, but you cannot go wrong with Moog suspension parts and the KYB Gr2's a a great setup for a reasonable price.

Re: Front Suspension/struts/linkage/bushings

Moog suspension parts are excellent quality. For example, when my 92 Formula was only 6 months old, the idler arm was loose. Replaced it with a Moog, and it was good for 100,000 miles.

Be careful with the oversized press-in ball joints. If your control arm is in mint conditon, those oversized joints take a lot of metal stretching to get them pressed in.

I have the higher priced parts from NAPA (ball joints, tie rods, etc.) and they have been great on the car for the last 3 years. Gives you a local option without paying/waiting for shipping.
