Rear end questions HELP

Ok so I have this 9 bolt sitting in my garage that has 3.45 posi and disks.....its sweet now the problem is that it has the first style brakes. I have drums now, will these brakes do any better? if I use my parking brake regularly will they work ok? Can I later on put the new style calipers on on if I want? I just have those worries, other than that I am ready to go get the rear end fixed and put in. Any ideas?

I put those same style calipers on my drum rear & haven't had any problems out of them yet. I did have to change out the E-brake cables though, the ones from the drum brakes don't work/fit on the disc calipers. GM only made 1 style of caliper mount bracket so newer calipers will bolt up in place of the old. I've seen people say you need to change out that prop. valve but, that's your call. My brakes seem to work just fine w/o doing that so I didn't bother.

you will need new e-brake cables, and the discs will be a lot better than the drums...the proportioning valve will make a difference though.get a new one and it will make a big difference.

Any one know if I can just bolt up the new caliper in place of the old style calipers on this 9 bolt. I was under the impression I would need to adapt some stuff. Any ideas??

As I stated, the calipers will bolt up directly to the existing mounts, GM brackets are GM brackets unless you're runng sprint cars or modifieds (I used to work for/fabricate this crap for http://www.afcoracing.com/ a few years back) The only thing that may have changed is the disc rotor itself.
