What are signs of worn tie rods?

I was changing the oil today, and greasing all of the steering fitings. Grease is already seeping out of the seals on the inner and outer tie rods; but, when I tug on them they feel secure(no looseness). The steering is still precise(no sloppiness or play).

grease is suspost to come out, it works sort of like a flush, out with the old in with the new. if there is no movement when you shake or pull on them and the stearing feels good you don't have a problem.
