I need to upgrade my front brakes so I'm looking at the 1LE setup because being a factory option I figured it would be "cheap". AHAHAHAHAAHHH!!!! The place I talked to wanted $850 for two rotors, calipers, and necessary bolts (all new). I have to modify my original spindles myself.

I know it's got to be cheaper then that! Where are the hot deals on 1LE front brake systems?

those in the know ..are waiting on spohn to get the parts !! I keep telling them they need to put the board back up and keep us all posted ..if to only say ..hey .. the order is placed and we are waiting .. nothing today ..nothing today ...nothing today ... the silence is deafening !!! I have a limited budget to play with cars and have to plan every move days and dollars in advance ... so I've been holding onto money waiting for these parts ... I could have bought other things and been ahead ..but... I wait .. and question ...

TVP 123 and Spartyon are both correct. Autozone has a great deal on the calipers. With the core charge they are about $50.00 each. One of the calipers may be new and the other is reman'd. But, and this is a big but, you still need other parts. That's where Steve Spohn comes in to the picture. Steve, the last I heard before the 1LE brake bracket board was eliminated, is putting together a complete 1LE brake package. You might want to give him a call.

 

stainless steel brake corps has a 1le retrofit kit for $895 with a 100 ollar core charge on spindles. the kit includes 2 rotors, calipers, caliper brackets,rubber flex hoses,brake pads, 2 modified spindles, bearings and all hardware. this is out of the next generation catalog so the price may be lower if you order directly from SSBC. they also have kits.

That's a good lead. You're right... anything can be had cheaper then in the Year One Next Generation catalog!
