**Read me** DISC BRAKE UPGRADE
I have the J65 disc rearend out of an 83 Z28. I want to upgrade them to the newer style brakes for 89 and up Camaro/Firebird. What parts do I need to get to make this a successful upgrade? Is the proportioning valve the same for disc brakes from 83 to 92? Any help is greatly appreciated.

84 up brake systems all have metric fittings.
The proportioning valve is different for the older disc brake system, but is the same part # in the newer systems between drum & disc.
You need the backing plates, caliper brackets, calipers, the piece the caliper slides in, parking brake cables, and lines. Basically, you need to find a disk brake rear end from a newer car.
