Balancing wheels

I'm having 60 MPH+ vibration coming from the rear. I did a search and it seems likey rear wheels nead to be balanced. I also had the rear opened up not too long ago and everything looked fine. Ok my question is when i take my car in to have the wheels balanced what are they doing?? How do you balance wheels?

they add lead weights to the lighter side to make it even. if you watch them do it it'lll be pretty clear to you what is going on.

If your vibration doesn't come in until around 60 mph, I would be willing to bet your driveshaft is out of balance. Unless you have free balancing for the lifetime of your tires, I would try rotating your tires front to rear and see if the problem persists, or the vibration moves to the front of the car. If the rear keeps vibrating, it is most likely your driveshaft out of balance. On the other hand if you opted for the free balancing when you bought your tires, take it in and have them balance them and see if the problem goes away. That will save you the chore of rotating your tires yourself.
