I have a 91 305 RS, and I want to get a posi rear end for my car. I have a chance to buy a posi 3.73 from a thirdgen firebird, but I wanted to make sure that it will work.

it will bolt up, I have a fourth gen and it bolted up. The only thing that I think could be a problem is if you have an auto(I don't know what you have)the gears may be too steep.

Nice axle! Make sure you replace the brake hoses on it with new stuff. While you've got it on the ground, you might want to throw in some new axleshaft bearings & seals (commonly misnamed as "rear wheel bearings & seals"). I put a 3.73/posi/disc rear axle from an '84 Trans Am under my '86 Firebird, and it bolted right up. The hardest part was bleeding the brakes afterwards.
