Wheels, 17?16?

Well, here is my question (I wasn't really sure where to put it, but this is the closest place I guess.) I am gonna get rid of my 15x7 wheels, and im not sure if I should go with iroc 16x8 or buying 17x9.5 roh zs rims (from skulte with the right spacing in front and rear all ready for use.) Before I buy the wheels however, I was planning on doing a little suspension overhaul, basically all new bushings (my rubber ones aren't there in some places anymore) new tie rods, shocks, struts, and springs. The springs im not sure about though, because if I go with 17x9.5 shouldn't I have stock height springs? Or should I get some 1" lowering springs? It sure would be nice to jack up my car without driving it up something (my springs right now are very worn out.) I dont really mind paying the extra money for the 275 40 rubber, but my car is always going to be slow and painfully stock (L03) with the exception of the suspension upgrades. (I also want to put an sfc on there from spohn, and maybe some new wider sway bars spohn makes.) So what do you guys think? I want a setup thats not going to give me much trouble, but do you think im crazy going with 17x9.5 wheels on my wittle 305 that will probably never be hot rodded (thanks to california gas prices and **** emmision controls.) Some final thoughts (questions rather) I've heard people say "Oh you need tubular a arms if you get 17" wheels" Tubular a arms? Also, some people hate all chrome wheels on a black car, you think roh zs wheels would like bad on a black camaro? Heres a link to skulte in case you need pics and/or want the wheels or whatever...

If you really want to play it safe, get the 8.5" on the front, and the 9.5" on the rear. You can't ever rotate tires then, but it'll look cool and clear no problem.

I've read that if you do lower an F-body, that there are quite a few other things that you have to buy to make it trac and handle properly.

There's a book that I read at Barnes & Noble that tells all about it. Let me find it (my wife works there) and I'll either quote it for ya, or just give you the name and you can go read it yerself.

BTW, I think those rims will look great on your car. And no your not dumb for putting them on a 305 powered car.

I will probably just use stock height springs but please go ahead and give me the name. I would love to check it out..
