Best size tires on Iroc wheels?

245/50 16 are stock, I have seen 255/50 16. What is the widest we can get in there. I think I would like 245's on the front and 255's on the rear. What do you think?

you could probably fit wider than 255 on the rear. I'm going too next time, but my rear is 2" wider on both sides, so I can't tell you for sure.

I'm thinking 255 is the most you want... after that it'll start to balloon at which point you defeat the purpose of going wider at least in terms of lateral handling. If you just want to go in a straight line, maybe 265's.

You want to stick with the original size unless you are determined to refigure everything. The factory tire is made specifically for the car it came on. The spring rate of the tire and compound and sidewall construction are particular to a certain vehicle weight and even the unsprung weight. Alot of times a tire change can hurt a car more than helping it.

I had 245/45/16 on my IROC. they're just a little lower profile. they make the rim and your car look better, lower your car about a quarter to a half inch, probably make it handle better, (it tightened my car's handling up alot, but i had pretty bad tires on to begin with.)
