Steering Coupler/Ragjoint
Steering Coupler/Ragjoint
Howdy folks, my question and I have asked it before is for those of you who have replaced your ragjoint in the Intermediate shaft of your column, where did you get yours? I have tryed twice now and to no avail. Once down in California I bought one and it turned out to be for a truck, once from Napa Online and it was the same one. Physically the wrong overall diameter and the holes were spaced too far apart anyway. Now I remember a guy referred to off here called Dal I think at an olds dealership who could get use long lost parts but don't remember anything else. Hell, I'd pay someone to get me the correct part since up here in Montana the parts guys look at you as if you've a horn growing out of your forhead whenever you mention something other than a truck. Parts for my Blazer or truck is no problem, but the camaro is too much of a car I guess. ANY Help would be greatly appreciated, I Want a new ragjoint, the correct one not something that's been "Farmerized" to fit. Thanks all and take care now, Gary
I've got a good used one out of a 91' or so I thought. My deal is this, I have brand new inner and outer tie rod ends and new ball joints, bushings, pretty much everything except the ragjoint. I even have a blueprinted Global West steering box, but I still have quite a bit of play. I guess it could possibly be due to the incredibly ****ty roads around here but I would like to tighten it up if at all possible. The Ragjoint is the last link, oh and chances are it was my buddy that sold you that one on Ebay.
Any information on a brand new or a Specific replacement would be greatly appreciated folks. I know some folks have spoken of using a truck ragjoint for the camaros, and judging from my buddy's 90'chevy they would be a direct replacement, that is if anyone other than me in this one horse Montana town knew of such a thing let alone how to get one.
