I've got an 88 Sport Coupe convertible, the standard low end 5.0 TBI style suspension. I'm looking and will these be the best things to bring it up to date:
Spohn 36 & 24 mm sway bars
Spohn Tubular Trailing arms Non adjustable
Spohn Panhard Rod
IRS Terminator Series SFCs (ones that work with converts.)
KYB GR-2 Gas struts for up front
KYB Gas A Just shocks for in the back
Seems besides the sfcs welded in and an alignment I can do most of this myself pretty easily. Am I correct on this

I hope so, it looks like with a Global west wonder bar and all the work done as well as some of the tools needed I can have this all for well under $1k. Any springs though that don't lower the car! I read that the GM parts for the 91 Z28 convertibles were good replacements.

Just a couple of FYI's. The IRS "terminator" series SFC is actually made by Alston. But you are correct they are one of only two brands (to date) that will work on a 'vert. It is the brand I have on mine. Unless I am wrong, the Spohn 36 mm front, 24 mm rear sway bars are GM 1LE or WS6 bars. You can buy them for a LOT less used from any WS6 equipped Firebird (Formula or GTA) or IROC at a Pick-A-Part. These are a non-wear item, so used is perfectly fine. Just get new sway bar bushings (rubber or grapphite impregnated polyurethane, depending on how tight you want the chassis). Also get new 1LE sway bar links GM p/n 10221779. Good luck, Lon.
