Edlebrock Strut Tower Brace... Proper installation procedures?

I just recieved the TPI Edlebrock Strut Tower Brace. I tried a dry fit to see if it just sits there properly... I have two problems. It just barely clears the TPI, I'm sure that it'll touch if I bolt the brace in. Is this expected? Also, where the arms rest after the shocks, it is not flush with the contour of the tower. It sits at a slight angle. If I rest part of the arm over the black metal plate that is part of the strut assembly, it'll sit flat.

In short... anyone have a close up picture of the arms of the brace so I can see what the heck am I supposed to do? I don't want to drill the holes and find out that I was wrong... Is it supposed to sit at a slight angle? Is it supposed to rest on that black metal plate? I hope that I make any sense!!!

My main brace clears the TPI by 3/8 inch. The main brace brackets are all the way forward on the strut towers, and don't overlay the black metal plates at all. I ran the firewall braces under the main brace for hood clearance.

Thanks! I just installed it and took it for a run to work. It barely cleared the plenum. One problem... I opened the hood to check the brace and the plenum at work and it's obvious that the brace had contacted and rubbed the the plenum. How do I stop this? Is it alright to add washers under the arms to raise the brace a little bit or that will defeat the purpose of the brace by adding more peices to it? I hope the plenum walls are rather thick cuz it's gonna rub a bit away with my spirited driving style.

Help!!!

Edit:

BTW Rick89IROC, your vert is beautiful and pretty fast! What did you do to get it that fast?

The main brace bracket bolt holes are slotted, loosen the main brace bolts and lift up on the main brace and retighten bolts. If this doesn’t help you either have to shim the brackets higher with body washers, or grind the bolt slots up so you can move the main brace up.

The main mods to my car are pocket ported S/R 305 torquer heads, Lunati Cam (209/213 duration 445/477 lift), SLP runners, Hooker headers, S10 torque converter, and 3.73 gear.

I know the stb works... Just by driving a thirdgen for two years, I have driven up the same steep driveay of a local restaraunt. After installing the stb and sfc's, my car will literally lift the rear right tire off of the ground as I drive up with the front right tire first. I can no longer make it up the driveway at that same approach angle. ...A problem I am willing to deal with :-)
