4th gen E-brake

I installed a 4th gen rear in my car a while back and have not yet figured out the best way to hookup the E-brake cables. I went from drum to disc and I was thinking of having someone remove the 2 cable hookups and have them weld them near the top of the underbody do you think that would work or is there a better way of installing these cables. I running out of time my inspect sticker is up at the end of the month. Also, do you think I need to replace my proportion valve which is a drum type. the brakes seem to be working O.K. but I have not yet had to really slam on them.

when you go drums to disks you need specific disk brake e-brake cables, the drum cables will not work.

I have the E-brake cables that came with the 4th gen rear but they don't fit due to the different bracket setup 3rd gen have and also the 4th gen cable has more cable wind around it so your not able to fit in place with the existing bracket.
