SFCs - Do you paint welds when done?

After getting SFCs welded on, what do you have to do to the welds to not let them rust? Just use regular Rust Protection Spray Paint.....or a combo of stuff or what? I will be getting them installed at a muffler shop...so I want to make sure I bring everything with me that I will need. BTW...these will be with Spohn SFCs that I will order pretty soon.

POR-15 is the best, most durable stuff you can get. Be sure to wear the gloves provided and don't get it on anything that's not intended.
I've got drops on my garage floor that will probably never come off.

After that, it would be the usual Rustoleum products.

Undercoating usually does the job, albeit not with a show-winning appearance..

actually that same question poped into my head when I first started thinking about putting sub connectors in and I thought of POR-15. They claim its the toughest stuff you can put on your frame. Won't chip, scratch or peel. Kinda pricey though I think it's like $30 bucks a pint, don't quote me though.

The shop that installed mine sprayed them with regular quick dry aerosol black paint. I see you live in TX, so what's the worry? Not like we drive on salted roads or it rains half the year.

I live in Dallas, where.....yes.... It rains pretty much half the year. Hasnt rained very much this year though, and they do lay out sand every now and then (like an average of about 10 days out of the year...guessing here) As far as I know though, there isnt any rust on my car...and I want to keep it that way. I guess I'll do the rust spray paint stuff (the cheap stuff)...the POR-15 looks pretty cool...but too much money....maybe when I get the car painted I'll coat some of the parts and frame in this...until then...i'll do the spray.

I painted my SFCs with Por-15, using only the starter kit, which was, perhaps, $10 or $12 and includes brushes, gloves, marine cleaner, metal prep, and the Por paint (the paint is watery and goes a "very" long way). I believe the above info is correct. At any rate, check out the Por site that PF Fly gives. The Por route isn't expensive.

There is a paint called "Rust Cap" that works very well for that. It's durable, and only costs about $5 per can.
