$15 "Take off" panhard rod from SLP...good deal?
$15 "Take off" panhard rod from SLP...good deal?
They sell a "take off" panhard rod for $15. Does that mean it's just like the bent one on my car, but not bent? Is it a worth-it replacement, or should I get SLP's reinforced panhard rod w/ polyeurethane bushings for $75, which is still cheaper than any other performance panhard rod I've found so far?
Or should I just stop pinching pennies and go for Steve Spohn's spherical rod ended/poly bushed combo adjustible panhard bar for $125? Spherical better than just boxed? Also I know you can align axle with adj. panhard bar, but why would you need adj. LCA's? (I plan on getting LCA relocation brackets in the future too...)

I would save for an aftermarket one unless you NEED one right away and dont have the money then get the take offs. The take offs are the same as yours now.

Okay, but which ones? Adjustible or non? If adjustible, should I go for the cheaper ones or does more ca$h still equal better quality and therefore Spohn combo panhards? By the way, I like those wheels! Did you get a good deal on 'em?

I have the Spohn adjustable because I plan on lowering the car and road racing it. It has the spherical on the rear end and poly on the frame end.
You can get poly on both in a non adj just for a better feel and performance on the street.
I also have his adj LCA's, for the same reason. I don't have the relocation brackets, yet.
The take off is just that. A new (stock) bar that they took off a new car to add their model. They're identical, between 3rd & 4th gen cars, and have new ends in them.
John, nice IROC.

You don't need the adjustable one unless you are going to do some serious suspension modifications. I replaced my bent panhard this summer with a BMR. I can tell a world of difference on high speed turns (I ran autocross a week after I replaced it).
Factory panhards must really suck. I curious how many people have bent ones if the check their rear end. Like I said mine was bent. I bought a BorgWarner from a swap meet, it was bent, and Car Craft had an article this month on F-body suspension and their project car's was bent. What is everyone's elses experiences.

Yeah, I saw that carcraft article. They didn't put prices like they usually do, but it looks like they spent a sh*tload on that car's Edelbrock suspension. I think my car was in an accident a week before I bought it. Previous owner said something about a Civic smacking into that left rear wheel... totalled the civic, chipped some paint on the TA. Oh, wait, my panhard's bend is on the right side. Oh well, so much for explanations. So, adjustible bar's not worth it? What's the point of them then?
