Do bigger wheels require a recalib'd speedo?
Do bigger wheels require a recalib'd speedo?
I'm going to upgrade my 1985 Sport Coupe to 1LE brakes with the help of Steve Spohn. Since I need bigger wheels to clear the calipers will I need to get the speedo recalibrated? Thanks!

Depends on the tire height. What was the old tire size? What size did you want to go with?

That depends on the outside diameter of the tires. If the tire size you intend to use has the same or very close outside diameter to the tires that came stock on the car you will be fine.
For example:
The outside diameter of a 245/50 16 tire is about 25.9 inches.
The outside diameter of a 275/40 17 is also about 25.9inches.
So using either of these tires the speedo will read the same.
