Ordering narrowed rear

I did some searching and it seems like the general consensus is that the rear can be narrowed 1.5" per side without causing interference between caliper backing plates/calipers and the suspension mounting points. I don't have a stock length rear to look at (or any rear for that matter) to double check. Can anyone who's done this put my mind at ease before I order my new rear? Thanks.

I'd call moser and ask the manufacturer

Re: Ordering narrowed rear

That's assuming I'm ordering from Moser I am checking with the company but figured I'd ask here as well. I've seen some people talking about it but never saw a definitive answer. Going off memory I think I should be fine since I'm only going 1" per side. However, its been a long time since I've seen a thirdgen rear in person.

Re: Ordering narrowed rear

This may help. Stock 9 bolt. 1" looks easily doable. The only issue I see is the stupid parking brake counterweight on the drivers side.

Bumping this up. OP, what length did you end up going with?

Looks like with a different brake package or caliper clocking, I might get away with 2" a side. Maybe LT1 rear brakes? clock the caliper to the front and run some offset LCA's.

Re: Ordering narrowed rear

I too am looking at narrowing my rear. I want to run something nuts in the back like 20 x 12 and have very little backspacing so there is a crazy lip. I currently have a moser 12 bolt though. If I find any info about cost and fitment I will post up.
