New vs. Old

Ok board...I'd like everyone's opinion on this one as I've heard both ways....That it does and that it doesn't when doing just daily cruising, no grand tourismo on weekends. Your take or experience on this.

Does it really make a difference replacing old stock suspension coil springs, (lets say over a 100,000 miles), to new stock ones ?

what do you call a difference? if the car is not sitting stupid low because the springs has sagged, leave them alone. New tires shocks and struts will make a larger difference

Re: New vs. Old

I replaced mine with MOOG replacements springs and noticed a difference right away. New ones are MUCH stiffer than 20 year old stock sagging springs. They also raise the ride height, which raises the center of gravity which isn't the best thing to do for handling but nevertheless, the car does not bounce as much anymore and feels much firmer in the corners.

But like 86TA said, shocks and tires will be the better upgrade.. Personally I plan on getting 2" drop spindles (I'm hoping some company comes out with a 1.5" drop spindle as I find 2" might be too low) and cutting the rear springs to match the front drop (also this will increase spring stiffness as they are not stiff enough for my taste.)
