1990 Formula, strut tower brace
I bought an Edelbrock front strut tower brace for my 90 Formula and I finally got around to intalling it yesterday. Everything went together ok except I started the car and shattered the heater control valve. It sits right underneath the cross bar and I guess when the engine torques it pins the valve between the bar and the engine. Has anybody else had this problem? Can I just cut the heater hoses back a couple of inches without hurting operation? Thanks and its a TBI.

Either your motor mounts(s) is/are bad, or the valve was sitting where it should have been. But with the engine moving far enough to bust that piece, I'd be looking at your motor mounts. I've had an Edelbrock 3-pt on a TBI before & never had any problems.

That would make sense. My last third gen didnt torque this much and there really isnt much room for the brace as it is.
