My MOOG springs...awesome.

Picked up my new MOOG coil springs today (part MOO 5665). These monsters are AWESOME!! Can't wait get them in. Also my wonderbar from Global West Suspension arrived. Hopefully I won't have any trouble installing it. Just waiting on my KYB GR2 struts, should arrive any day now. Steering system will be next.

Sounds good man! Just bought Intrax springs today, and will be ordering a set of the KYB GR2's as well.

You should be happy with the MOOG springs, they are new and stiff and give you a nice ride height after.

I was speaking with my mechanic about cutting springs and he said they don't offer that service because it is dangerous.. I know it's been covered on here before, but they are experienced so why would they say this?

Because either they don't know better or they don't want to be liable.

Torching the springs will be dangerous but cutting a coil wont hurt anything.

Re: My MOOG springs...awesome.

Its a liability reasons, if you cut them your self then have them install it. Use a cutting wheel though when cutting them & not a torch.

That's debatable. To me, lowered cars are sort of like putting 17-18" wheels on the car. Sure those wheel sizes are common on cars today. But to me, the 3rd gens look just as normal with 15-16" wheels as they do with stock height springs.

Some of us have steep driveways and cities that are layed out with steep everything for flooding reason. I know Houston is this way. Just going to the grocery store, I have to crawl into the parking lot because of the angle. And I have stock height springs.

Besides, I like being able to see the tires. I didn't pay the big bucks for the GS-D3 tires only to hide them away.

Re: My MOOG springs...awesome.

In all honesty, a little bit lower would be cool, but you have to make the choice depending on what you do with the car.. If I wanted an all out performance handling car that would not see the street I would go so low as to have maybe a half inch only of fender gap, at most. Montreal (where I live) is sorta like Houston with all the steep curbs (but mainly because the city doesn't build stuff properly here, not because of flooding).

Even at my fender height, my front nose scrapes half the time coming out of my driveway (depending if I have a passenger in my car, or how much PSI is in the tires.. so i'm like borderline low to get out of my driveway without scraping!)
