So, if you were swapping in a big block, but wanting to keep excellent ride quality as more important than ultimate cornering, but still wanted to not have to slow below the speed posted on the yellow warning signs, on 245/50R16 tires, what springs would you choose?
Moog's 5610s are listed as 11.00" load height, 0.69" wire diameter, 420 lb/in rate, 15.16" free height, and 2444# total front weight. The 5664s are 10.75", 0.76", 767, 13.18", and 2618.
And how about KYB GR2 struts? I'm thinking of buying and installing a pair of these at the same time, to replace my old mystery struts.

Re: Front spring choice, GR2 question
if you're on a budget, the GR2's seem to be the standard. They're no Koni/Bilstein, but they do beat anything in their price range (gabriel, monroe, etc).

i'll have to let someone else chime in on the springs though; I opted for a set of lowering springs for my setup

Thanks, Dan!

It seems the 5610s should ride best, but not if they let it keep bouncing off the bumpstops. The 5664s being a factory item, should be tolerable? Anyone?

Re: Front spring choice, GR2 question
you wopuld probably want somethint in the realm of 750-900 lb rate fromt he front springs with a iron BB. those 5610's are the ones that came stock in my v6 car.

dont skimp on shocks, seriously. if you are putting the money out for a BB swap and such, the cost of a set of koni yellows or bilsteins would be still quite resonable

Thanks for that, but I missed out on that Rat, someone bid $1 more than me, in the final minute. Dammit!
