suspension upgrades

suspension upgrades

What suspension upgrades will I have to make when I swap my V6 to a V8?

You don't really need to do anything. The springs in a V6 car have a lighter rating so your front end will sink and they wont control the weight as well as V8 springs but I doubt you will notice. Stock V6 struts may have less dampening than V8 struts. Again, I doubt you will notice.

Unless you are serious about handling (e.g. you go to open track events, autocross, time attack) none of this stuff will really matter.

Can't see any reason to change out the strut mounts.

i usually assume these parts have never been replaced and if you are going through the trouble of an engine swap, why not swap them while you are at it.

you are correct with the springs, the v6 ones will "work".

Think about the average thirdgen.org member. Burnouts, drag racing, "raked" stance should be the things that come to mind. You think they are going to notice a difference rolling on 225/70/15 uniroyal white letter tires?

Changing the strut mounts is a pita that has nothing to do with the engine swap. If they are shot (lots of axial play) then maybe look into it sometime.

Better to save that money for something else.
