Powersteering box leak on bottom? removal?
i know this is a third gen site but i know someone could help. i have a 80 camaro z28 the power steering doesn't work, not the pump but the part where the steering column goes into leaks on the bottom of it. so how do i remove it? and is it fixable? thanks!

Is it leaking above where the pitman arm attaches to the box? If so you need to remove the pitman arm, then pull out the snap ring that holds the two seals in. Then start the car and turn the wheel all the way in one direction. The seals will blow out. Then, buy pitman shaft seal kit at your local store and put the new seals back in and reassemble everything.

cant tell where its leaking from but thats probably where the leak is. how could i get the whole thing out of the steering column?
