umi adjustable panhard rod

Tried to install my new panhard bar but the bolts are stuck.

Got the nuts off with ease. And the bolts rotate but I can't pull them out. Any suggestions

i'd try wd-40 and a hammer, just work at it, unless its welded it'll come out.

Re: umi adjustable panhard rod

The bolts tend to rust and sieze to the steel sleeve in the bushing. Sometimes a BFH will break them loose, sometimes not.

Re: umi adjustable panhard rod

The shaft of the bolt is probably pitted with rust preventing it from sliding out smoothly. Be careful you don't damage the hole on the receiving end. You don't really care about what you do to the old panhard bar to get it off.

Re: umi adjustable panhard rod

mine did the same thing, use a breaker bar and then have a friend take a punch and a bug hammer and hit it from the back as you turn the nut.

Re: umi adjustable panhard rod

I had one rust to the sleeve in the bushing, you could turn the bolt, the sleeve would turn with it but no dice on getting it out. Usually leaves you with 2 choices: burn it out with a torch or take an angle grinder and cut the bushing out...
