Well I finally broke down and bought a reman 605 s steering gear for my 83. That's what she came with. Cleaned up the old one and tightened some hoses and thought I had it fixed. Looked like she stopped leaking until I checked the fluid! didn't know it was leaking that bad it's up on stands and I have a pan under it so I couldn't tell until I checked the fluid. It was empty and that is why I thought that I had it fixed-LOL

 

Just picked up my weekend project which is my remad steering gear and I hope it installs smoothly and finally get rid of that leak, I hate that leak. Will post a little more after I get it installed.

 

Well I am ready to head out to the shop and work on the steering gear and will be posting later on the progress.

 

Well it has been a while since my last post but it went well. All I can say to help anyone is to make sure and remove the bolt in front of the rag joint all the way before you try and remove the steering shaft.
