mcquay norris front end kit
So I am looking into redoing the front suspension and steering since I have 218,xxx mi on the bird. I have looked into Spohn and PST. I found some bad reviews on PST. The Spohn sounds solid but I would have to buy the kit and some extra parts. I found this kit that has everything except the a arm bump stops, but I never heard of mcquay norris. I did a search on here and they have been mentioned a couple times, but no solid reviews on them. Did a Google search and found a review comparing them to TRW and Moog. Just looking to see if anyone has some personal experience with them, and get thoughts on it. Thank to all in advance for the help.

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
Have used them, never a prob. just as good as moog IMO. Wouldnt hesitate to buy. I only use trw, mcq and moog, spicer joints and such. Never chinese junk. Backw hen I id some tinkering on my corvette I once used vb&p ball oints, they turned out to be chinese junk and they were kaput within a couple thousand miles

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
Thanks for the info. Like I said I really like how it has everything in one kit. Other kits I found only had some parts and not the others. Meaning I would have to buy other parts separately. I would only have to get the bump stops and they are only like $7 a pop at the local parts store. My struts are only about 2 years old. But I am looking into springs also.
Re: mcquay norris front end kit
When i was looking for parts for my front end rebuild I read a lot of good reviews on some 2nd gen forums on mcquay norris parts. I pieced together my kit and went with one of their idler arms. Seems well built from what I can see.

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
Looks nice, I think I'll be ordering this kit for my daily driver RS, along with some braided steel brake lines and a new panhard bar. I'll post back my results in a month or so.
Edit - Actually, if you go to rockauto.com you can piece together an all Moog kit with the same stuff but without the generic swaybar bushings and adjusting sleeves. Ordering some Coleman Hex Sleeves with ES swaybar bushings and 1LE endlinks to replace it, and it's only about $125 more for all the beefier problem solver components

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
so went out to the garage today and the package was sitting in front of the bird. turns out ups has the code to my garage. so I dont know how long its been here. probably a day or so. so shipping took about a week. so i looked at everything and turns out it does also come with the a arm bump stops. every thing has grease fittings. also all new hard ware castle nuts and cotter pins etc. I will post pics of the kit sometime tomorrow. (can some one explain how to put the large photos right in the post? instead of me having to attach thumbnails, where im limited to 3 pics per post.) Also due to the lovely Wisconsin weather i was unable to sandblast and paint a arms, sway bar and spindles. so as soon as i get that done i will start install. and let you all know how the fit of everything was.

Get a photobucket account and use the insert image button (yellow box with moutains in your reply box) you have to upload them to photobucket then use the URL of the image... I know.. confusing..
easier to show then say.

No problem. Oh and shipping was reasonable to with shipping it came to $250 and some change, so about $25. And that was from Maryland to Wisconsin.

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
Yeah so far it's all been ok. Got the a arm bushings pushed in and the ball joints put the bump stop on to. So a arms are done. Decided to do springs as long as I have the Bird apart so waiting to order them before I start putting the rest together. I am going with Moog springs.

I notice the end link hole is egged out. Too bad you didn't have that fixed, but everything looks terrific.

Re: mcquay norris front end kit
right after I pulled the Bird out of the garage. The front end was sky high.

took her to get an alignment the next day, she went in looking like that and pulled out looking like this

I am so glad the front end came down.
