Engine: 350

Transmission: 400 turbo

Axle/Gears: 3.92

Posi rear end

Hey guys i purchased a posi rear end for my 85 Z 28 and discovered that the ratio is a 3.92. I cant find any third gen that came stock with this ratio, so i was wondering if this is rare and where it would of come from.

No OE thirdgen 9- or 10-bolt was equipped with that ratio.

Never heard of any such ratio. Given the various design parameters for that model of rear, can't see how it would even be possible. It would require too many pinion teeth.

What are the tooth counts?
