Grinding Sound While Accelerating

My car makes a very noticeable grinding sound while accelerating. It is most noticeable under light acceleration. It sounds like it is coming from the front driver side somewhere. What would be some causes of this?

I'd examine the pad/rotor and wheel bearings.

Wheel bearings can get overlooked very easily. When mine went out on my bird it took me a bit to decypher where the noise was coming from since it would only make noise at certain times.
