Rear axle problem

So today my brother in law noticed that the rear tire on the drivers side of the TransAm sticks out past the fender well while the passengers side tire is inside the fender well. I measured them and the drivers side is 3/4" outside the face of the fender well while the passengers side is 1 1/2" inside the face of the well. This car was rear ended before I got it, but I thought I had fixed that when I replaced the impact bar. It was bent in 1 3/4" in the center, even had to pull the back wall of the trunk out. Any ideas about the axle being offset? The body brace and track bar do not appear to be damaged. The fender well on the drivers side is 1 3/4" higher than the other side. Guess I need to get it on a frame machine.

Re: Rear axle problem

If you get an adjustable panhard bar you can straight that out. IMO

Re: Rear axle problem

I've thought about that, would like to know why it is that way before I start tweaking. Have to move it over an inch to be even, that seems a lot for the panhard bar.

Re: Rear axle problem

Swap wheels & tires from side to side, see if the problem follows.

Look at the Panhard bar and see if it's bent.

Re: Rear axle problem

The LCAs might have bent too, or the body mounts for them.

Re: Rear axle problem

Does it pull? Id check the previous suggestions first. I believe the T/A's use different wheels front and back like the Irocs do. Make sure it does not have a front wheel on the back (it shouldnt make it stick out however it may make it look more dramatic if you have a wide wheel on one side and a narrow one on the other) If they are swapped it may be less of an adjustment. Shot in the dark but worth checking,
