I have a very sloppy idler arm and rather than just replace it I'm thinking of doing the center link and maybe tie-rod ends too. I've read several threads extolling the virtues (or not) of assorted makes. I've seen Raybestos professional grade which claims to be heavier duty and stronger than 'stock' parts. Anyone have knowledge about the claim? Is it worth the extra money? I am auto crossing the car so want to go with the sturdiest I can afford.

 

i have never used those parts. I always use moog, and have never had a issue with quality

Don't worry about the name on the box. Take out the part and LOOK AT IT.

You'd be surprised at how little the brand on the box means. I've gone to AutoZone and NAPA looking for a cener link, for example; NAPA has 2 "lines", their "premium" with like a lifetime warranty or something for about $100, and "standard" with a 1-yr for about $75. AZ has their "McQuay-Norris" brand for like $60. So I take the part out of all 3 boxes and LOOK AT IT... it's IDENTICAL IN EVERY WAY, right down to the Dana logo forged into it.

Guess which one I bought?

Moral of the story: LOOK AT THE PARTS. Screw the box.
