Sway Bar Questions

I have a 1990 Camaro IROC-Z and the bushings needed to be replaced on both of the sway bars. I measured out the front and rear sway bars with a caliper and I got 36mm for the front and 24mm for the rear. When I went to the local parts store, they told me my car did not come with a 36mm sway bar (biggest was 34mm). I'm kind of baffled since I used a caliper to measure both and they were dead on 36mm and 24mm. Judging from the amount of wear on both the sway bars, I would assume that they were stock. Anyone else know something I don't and if so, where can I find a kit to replace the front bushings? Thanks!

Re: Sway Bar Questions

I had the same issue with my 1988 Formula. NAPA has them but they are special order. Go to NAPA on line and I think you can order them directly.

Re: Sway Bar Questions

You measured correctly, there were 36's on some of the cars. Spohn sells the rubber mounting bushings with new clamps that have a zerk fitting for greasing them. $39+shipping, not cheap unfortunately

Welcome to TGO, j.

The 36/24 combo is fairly common.
