coil spring headache

I got a 91 camaro RS with a v8. As I pulled in my drive I noticed the whole passenger side dropped lower than the drivers. I found the struts bad and figured that this would not cause the side to drop so I bought a set of Moog 5662 springs. After installing, the front is about 4 inches to high. Does anyone know what springs I need? I want to retain the factory ride height. Please any help would be appreciated.

Re: coil spring headache

Did you index the springs properly? That will make it sit way high. Also keep in mind your factory springs could have been worn out and sagging, making the car lower than it would have been stock.

Re: coil spring headache

4" too high sounds like you just pulled the jack out & judged it by that & did drive the car any. Drive it around the bloc, or at least up & down the street, and then see how it sits.

Just dropping it down & not moving the car does not allow the suspension to settle.

Re: coil spring headache

I contacted a rep for Moog. He said the proper spring was #5604.

Maybe so, but different springs won't account for a 4" difference. Have you moved the car yet? Yes or no?

Re: coil spring headache

5604 is WAY taller but way softer.
http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com...prod=MOOG-5406
Install Height 11.50"
Load 2249lbs
Spring Rate 321lbs
Free Height 18.66"

Install Height 10.75"
Load 1690lbs
Spring Rate 748lbs
Free Height 13.0"

The 5662 that you used should not make the car sit higher. Check your spring index as mentioned above & roll the car as I already mentioned above. My bet is that 1 or the other (or both combined) will fix your height issue.

Re: coil spring headache

I actually drove the car around. Still sitting higher. I carried it to a mechanic to check things out, and he said that even if the springs haven't index, it would not cause the front to sit that much higher. The rep for Moog said that the 5604 spring rate would be correct. Info coming from everywhere, and I still pulled on what to do.
