Where do I jack my car and where do the jack stands go?

Looking to do some work under the car soon.

I plan on using 4 jack stands to keep the car reasonably level for some transmission fluid changing, then move on to the suspension, wheel bearings,etc...

Where is the best place to use the racing jack to get the car up enough to set it up on the stands?

Where are the best places for the jack stands themselves?

Thanks

Chuck

i jack the rear by the pumpkin amd put stands on the LCA mount on the body just ahead of the control arms, and some under the axle side lcs mounts if i dont want to let the axle hang all the way.

front i use the k-member to jack, and i put jackstands either on the frame at the bottom of the firewall, or on the k-member right where the front mount for the control arms are.

if you have the owner's manual, the jackstands go where it says the factory approved lifting points are.. jack the rear up by the center of the rear end- being careful not to jack on the sway bar- and under the center of the crossmember in the front.. works best to do the front, then the rear.

what kind of a "racing jack" do you have? you won't get it high enough to really work comfortably under it with a $59 Harbor Freight aluminum jack..

Do a search on here about jacks. There was a big thread on them.

If you are going to lift the front by going underneath the crossmember just be sure that the jack is seated on there correctly. I lift my car up from that spot all the time and then about a month ago I got complacent and didn't do enough checking before I started to lift. The front crossmember slipped off the jack and the weight of the car destroyed my center link and oil pan.
