Average cost for steering box replacement?
I'm selling my camaro (I wanna cry) and in the ad I mentioned the steering box being worn out. Somebody called me about the camaro wanting to know how much it would be to have it replaced. Any ideas on what to tell him a rough estimate would be?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Average cost for steering box replacement?
Well steering in a f body is alot easier then alot of todays car's with the rack an pinion fwd set up if labor is running around 65-75 an hour it usually takes about 2 hours to do it the shop would then recommend an alignment but its not necessary since it has a key way for the telescoping rod to slide in an then they will have to press the pitman arm on an then hook everything back up for powersteering lines etc so roughly around 300-400 i would say

What special tools would I need if I were to do it myself to get a little more on the sale? A pitman arm puller? Anything else?
