Scavenged parts

I bought a really rough 1984 Z28 back in October. I've been digging through salvage yards and pouring over Craigslist ever since trying to build a nice car without turning it into a money pit.
Two days ago at one of my favorite salvage yards I ran across a 1989 GTA. The disc brake rear was already hacked up, but would have been more than I could afford this trip anyway. What I did find was an aluminum driveshaft ($15), both sway bars with what looks to be new endlinks ($30), and steering box with pitman arm ($36). Plus a set of new looking KYB GR-2 struts ($40) on a Camaro I'd had to leave behind back in December because I hadn't brought a big enough socket.
Back in December at a different yard I found Eibach Pro rear springs ($22) laying by a 4th gen that had the rear end pulled.
I just wanted to share my excitement with someone and my friends aren't really car guys. I've been reading threads on here since I got the car and you've all been a great inspiration. My car will never be a car of the month nominee, but it's improved alot with the tips and ideas I've gotten here.
Look for a build thread from me around April if all goes well. I've taken tons of pics.

Re: Scavenged parts

I've cobbled together this car from at least 14 others so far. I couldn't have afforded to buy the car this one will become. My long term budget for what started as a $600 Z28 has grown from $2,000 to $3,500 after spending hours on here looking at pieces of rolling art. It's a challenge to build a nice car for less than the labor of some of the paint jobs. That's also alot of the fun though.
I plan to keep the car as my daily driver so it won't need extreme acceleration or massive brakes, but I' d like it to feel solid on the road so I do have plans for subframe connectors, replaceing the lca's, panhard bar, KYB shocks, new upper strut mounts and some decent tires when I can get a cheap set of the single line style Iroc wheels. I'm sure the whole front end will need freshening up as well. I know it sounds like alot, but I'm still confident.

Re: Scavenged parts

That's how I started my car from getting parts here and there from TGO and other places...

With those upgrades u will fill a different car that's what I did and notice a difference on my car
